The Grimsby Author Series began in 2002. It was originally conceived by the Grimsby Public Library Board out of a desire to help fundraise for the new local library and art gallery that was under construction, and to promote reading and literacy in the community.
Originally the Series was held at the old Grimsby Pumphouse on the shores of Lake Ontario. Very shortly, it grew out of this venue and moved to the larger one at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School for the next three seasons. The Series outgrew the high school in 2007, when it was then moved to the Casablanca Winery Inn.
More than 20,000 people have attended our events over the years, with nearly 150 Canadian author appearances. The Library is so proud of all the organizers, volunteers and sponsors that have helped to make the Grimsby Author Series the huge success it has become today.
